Project Description

For the first time as a musical!

BAMBI – The Waldical

On November 11, 2018 in the studio at the Admiralspalast

BAMBI. Generations have grown up with the story of the little fawn. The cute roebuck is born in the forest and lovingly initiated into life by his mother. He finds friends in other animals and meets the hunters and his father, the mighty ruler of the forest. The world success of the Walt Disney film of 1942 has made „Bambi“ to one of the most important fairy-tale characters of all. However, hardly anyone knows that the original book was written by the Austrian writer Felix Salten, which appeared in 1923.

Author and actor Christian Berg has staged many classics of literature as musicals for children, such as Charles Dicken’s „Christmas Story“ and „Oliver Twist“, „The Canterville Ghost“ or „The Snow Queen“. Christian Berg’s version of „Bambi“ approaches nearer to the original of the book again – with one big difference: The trauma that dominates many parents that Bambi’s mother dies, will be dissolved. How? That is still not betrayed!

Children’s musical author Christian Berg and composer Paul Glaser open a large musical picture book with a rhythmic, singing and sounding forest. Six actors and the puppets of „Zuckerli’s Puppet Workshop“ will make Bambi, his mother and all his friends almost lifelike and amaze the audience!
